Bright Blue has used survey data from the Understanding Society Covid-19 Study to perform original analysis examining changes in the financial situation of Universal Credit claimants relative to the rest of the population during the first year of the pandemic.

We focus on two population groups: those who do not claim Universal Credit, and those who are claiming Universal Credit or are applying for it in the month of the survey.
