George Pickering is a Senior Economist at Bright Blue. He is also an Associated Scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute in the United States, where he previously worked as a Seminar Leader and Research Fellow. He has been published by outlets including The Critic, City A.M., Conservative Home and the Foundation for Economic Education. In 2025, George received his doctorate in Economic History from the University of Oxford, where his research focussed on the relationship between interest rates, the business cycle and the development of central banking in nineteenth-century Britain.
