Michael Stephens

Associate Fellow

Michael Stephens is a Senior Research Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI), and an Associate Fellow at RUSI where he previously worked as the Research Fellow for Middle East Studies. Michael was seconded to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2017 serving as the Senior Research Analyst for Lebanon and Syria. Michael specialises in Foreign and Security policy of the UK, and is co-author of What next for Britain in the Middle East? Security, Trade and Foreign Policy after Brexit, I.B. Tauris (2021). Michael advises governments and private sector clients on a number of foreign policy issues, ranging from defence to climate change. He also serves as a board member of Tories for Climate Action.
